Solving identity, access and mobility within the NHS, London, UK, December 9
This joint Microsoft-Evidian seminar explores two of the major challenges faced by NHS Trusts:
- How to manage the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts effectively
- How to improve working practice for managers, clinicians and staff, freeing up time to focus on patient care

Les Assises de la Sécurité, Monaco, October 15-18
This was a perfect occasion to meet and exchange best practices with other IT Managers and information system security professionals: the 8th Assises de la Sécurité (European Security and Information Systems Congress), attended by more than 1000 decision-makers, IT managers, information system security officers and risk managers.
The 2008 event placed the accent firmly on new kinds of crisis: changing patterns of attack and new security theaters of operation. Faced with a new generation of crises, that are more hard-hitting, more sudden, less predictable, and yet so easy to explain, this conference suggested ways of diagnosing the problems and provided recommendations at both strategic and operational levels.
