OpenMaster for Telecom case studies:
Telemanagement Forum Catalyst Projects
TeleManagement Forum is a non-profit, global organization where service providers and suppliers collaboratively integrate OSSs to streamline and automate key business processes. Member teams develop actual solutions.
TeleManagement World is where over 1400 business and technical leaders and decision makers from across the communications industry supply chain (solution suppliers, service providers, and systems integrators) gather to:
- Gain knowledge, insight, and perspective on cutting edge issues from world-class expert speakers over four days of workshops, presentations, and panels
- See the latest in products from more than 70 leading OSS vendors from around the world
- Preview emerging technologies and capabilities via live "prototype" demonstrations in the Catalyst Showcase - the interoperability lab for OSSs
- Network with industry peers and cut deals
Unlike a typical conference where people only talk about issues, at TMW they actually solve them. The event attracts about 2300 participants.
Evidian participates actively in the TeleManagement Forum Catalyst Projects.
With the Catalyst Showcase you can see real and prototype products linked together to automate key processes and deliver integrated solutions. This enables suppliers to test the viability of new approaches and ideas in a live market setting, while giving service providers a way to see what's possible and provide feedback to suppliers. For example we participated in various catalyst projects, such as IP VPN and MCCM.
Most recently, In the MCCM Catalyst Project we demonstrated how mobile network operators can change radio parameters for all affected GSM and UMTS cells of different manufacturers, in a flow-through process with a single integrated management tool. The aim is to build an OSS Common Configuration Management Product with a 3GPP CORBA standard interface to a number of vendors OMC's. The goal is a common way to configure GSM and UMTS Cells across each vendor's OMC. A GSM and UMTS Network Planning Tool will also be part of the demonstration.
For more information, see the MCCM datasheet (Acrobat file).
