Evidian announces OpenMaster 8, the new release of its flagship service management platform

Paris, June 20, 2007  –  Evidian today announced release 8 of OpenMaster, its intelligent information and telecom-systems monitoring and management software suite. Thanks to a new infrastructure based on the latest J2EE application server technologies, OpenMaster 8 strongly enhances interoperability with multiple data sources, point-and-click customization and monitoring of scalability from several distributed operation centers.

OpenMaster 8: next-generation monitoring and alarm management

Release 8 significantly reinforces OpenMaster's distributed monitoring and alarm management capabilities. It enables organizations to easily manage complex IT infrastructures from several operation centers all over the world. OpenMaster 8 also offers advanced animated maps and alert management features, and makes it possible to integrate external data into composite monitoring applications.

OpenMaster 8 ushers in important improvements in four major areas:

  • A new J2EE infrastructure based on the latest application-server technologies. This infrastructure simplifies the integration of external data into OpenMaster's monitoring environment. It also strongly enhances OpenMaster's scalability in that it supports numerous operators with customized management interfaces.
  • Next-generation monitoring and alarm consoles. OpenMaster's new monitoring and alarm management centers not only offer increased scalability and pure web-based interfaces, but are also highly configurable so that operators can easily integrate external data from standard agents, external SQL databases, LDAP directories or any standard source. With a new point-and-click map designer, and XML import/export and query tools, map configuration and animation can be adapted instantly to take into account new objects, services and applications. As a result, customized mashup applications, which combine monitoring with business intelligence, helpdesk, or other applications, are easy to build.
  • New and updated management packs. OpenMaster 8 facilitates fine-grained management of critical applications based on Oracle 10g, Web Services and J2EE environments.
  • Extension of telecom mediation capabilities. OpenMaster 8 supports mediations with the latest 3GPP R6 standards for mobile telephony, in partnership with major telecom equipment providers such as Nortel and Ericsson.
