Paris, April 26, 2005. Evidian today announced release 7.0 of its OpenMaster software suite. Now available under Linux, in addition to Windows and UNIX, this new version brings a reduction in the cost of the secure administration of IT infrastructures, and improves the service level management of business-critical applications and Apache-based web service platforms.

In addition, OpenMaster 7.0 extends its mediation portfolio to the latest 3GPP R5 standards for mobile telephony and adds services dedicated to the four main mobile telephony providers.

OpenMaster 7.0's key differentiator is its business-centric process management capabilities, including intelligent correlation of all the resources involved in providing services to users.

The distinctive features of OpenMaster 7.0 are:

• A significant reduction in operating costs thanks to intelligent correlation based on expert system technology. Offering a wide choice of possibilities, and adaptable to the specific requirements of each company, OpenMaster 7.0 under Linux enables the deployment of service level management systems on low-cost platforms, while delivering performance 20% higher than that available on traditional UNIX-based platforms.

OpenMaster 7.0: intelligent application management

Version 7.0 significantly reinforces OpenMaster's Information System analysis and correlation capability. It adds innovative topological analysis functions, handles new alarm types, and supports multiple concurrent correlation processes, so as to be able to handle dozens of alarms per second.

OpenMaster 7.0 also provides major improvements in three areas of application management:

• Fine-grained management of business-critical applications: using a new generation of agents, OpenMaster 7.0 enables detail-level management of applications such as Oracle, SAP, BEA WebLogic and Tuxedo
• Full management of Apache Web servers, including the administration of all Apache-based Web services platforms, and covering availability, performance and security monitoring (alerts). Evidian's OpenAgent software technology is the base component of Web services management
• Secured management of sensitive resources in compliance with the company security policy

Extended telecom service management capabilities

OpenMaster 7.0 extends its range of mediation capabilities to the latest 3GPP R5 standards for mobile telephony, in partnership with the main telecom service providers.

OpenMaster and OpenMaster for Telecom–which completes the OpenMaster suite with dedicated applications–are being used all over the world by security-sensitive industries including T-Mobile, DFS (German air traffic control), EADS, Ericsson, France Telecom Orange, Gie Cartes Bancaires, Teligent, and Thales.
